The strategic location of the farm which is near the border of Malaysia-Thailand gives an advantage in the process of importing the livestock such as cattle and buffalo. We provide animal quarantine service for livestock brought into Malaysia through Bukit Kayu Hitam. This service is in accordance with the provisions under the Veterinary Law in which it is stated that all livestock must undergo a period of quarantine for the purpose of screening for diseases before they can be distributed locally. The Animal Quarantine Station (Temporary) of LTSSB or known as SKH (S) is monitored by the Department of Veterinary Services (Kedah) and MAQIS.
The operation commenced in October 2010 and has the ability to accommodate as many as 300 heads of cattle/buffalo at one time. We offer a variety of packages that can meet the customer’s quarantine requirements for as low as RM 2/per cow/per day. LTSSB also provides livestock feed, medicines and vaccines as well as identification tags (RFID Tag). For more information, feel free to contact us:

Two 2-series type aerobic ponds were designed to accommodate the livestock dung. This is crucial so as to make sure the waste does not pollute the environment. The dung is dug out bi-monthly and the solid material is dried up for fertilizer for own use and also for sale.
Water for drinking and cleaning comes from a pond that is located about 400metres from the feedlot. The water is pumped out using a water pump powered by Nissan TD27 diesel engine. Prior to use, a test is carried out to ensure that the water is free from harmful pathogens such as salmonella sp. and E. Coli sp.
Green fodder such as napier, guinea and ruzy grass forms the bulk of the livestock feed. The plants are harvested by using a forage harvester machine. Other feed types are concentrated palm oil kernel pellet, leucaena leaves, cassava chips and leaves and corn occasionally.
There are two types of machineries for daily work use as illustrated below:
This tractor-mounted equipment is used for the harvesting of forage for animal feed. It is usually mounted on a Massey Ferguson tractor. Currently we have three units of forage harvester machine – two units of 400kg capacity and one unit of 600kg capacity.
A BOBCAT™ front loader is used to scrape the waste off the floor of the paddock and to transfer sacks of concentrated feed from feed bunker to the feedlot.
One supervisor and one field worker attend to the daily operation of the feedlot. Their jobs include maintaining the cleanliness of the feedlot area and feeding the animals.
